Guest Employment Program
When a shelter guest stays longer than 5 days they will meet with a lay counselor to develop a plan of direction for their life. Next they enroll in the guest employment program so trust and a way to discover their goals can be cultivated. On the program the men are transported to various locations around the community to undertake assignments that are designated by the Salina Rescue Mission. This is a free service to the community and mainly focused at cleaning up, beautifying and adding value to the community. Workdays are Monday and Thursday. (RETURN)
New Life Program
The New Life Program is a structured method of recovery. It is a Christian based program that is accomplished in four levels, and takes approximately 33 weeks to complete. It is a major commitment that takes a willingness to listen and develop discipline in ones life. Every man on the program is required to see our family therapist and be willing to submit to accountability from the Program Director. Testimonials from Graduates. (RETURN)
Aftercare Program
After a client has graduated from the New Life Program, they advance to Aftercare. This program allows a man to live at the mission but be employed so they can save money to pay fines, get rid of existing debt and save for the day they move out. It also gives them structure and accountability. (RETURN)
Job Preparation and Classes
Different people teach required classes for the New Life Program including the Career Direct Guidance System from Crown Financial Ministries.
Classes are “Life in Christ”, “Your Work Matters to God”, and “Search for Significance”. (RETURN)
